Sickening — the White House has put up a site about 1/6 painting himself as a hero and Pelosi, The Capitol Police, and Mike Pence as the villains.

An attempt to rewrite history before our eyes.

PSA: It was an insurrection.

I can’t even begin to tell you what a Big Deal this is for such a small thing. I lived a couple of years at the other end of this bridge on the BK side & used to bike it all the time. Everyone knew the exit was dangerous & yet nothing ever changed. It was a punchline. Mayor Zo got that shit DONE, yo
Zohran just went out and fixed the Williamsburg Bridge bike entrance. Just did it. No faffing, no nonsense. Bam. Fixed.

Masha Gessen: Why did Putin probably rejoice at the loss of his ally Maduro? Because Trump trampled all over the international law that made Putin's invasion of Ukraine an act of blatant aggression. Trump has implicitly accepted Putin's grand bargain: you get Venezuela and Greenland, I get Ukraine.

I spent much of the last two years in a perpetual state of anxiety and depression, often posting about a persistent desire to hide in bed. After moving back to Toronto, it turns out a lot of those feelings were due to 1) my job and 2) the stress of being an Asian woman on a US work visa.

@charlotteclymer.bsky.social aptly-and rightly-sums up the dedicated career of Senator Mark Kelly who

“has spent his entire life in service to our country and in defense of our Constitution and in stewardship of the many service members and public servants under his leadership.”
"I doubt Senator Kelly will see this blog, and if he does see it, I imagine he will not be pleased with it. He’ll probably find it embarrassing. His humility likely makes him bristle at stuff like this. Well, that’s just too damn bad, Senator."

Ok, that previous example was a single time investment of 1 year of coffee spending after 20 years. Now let’s contribute $30 initially and do $30 a month into savings over 20 years at 12% return. Impressive. So, yes, I avoid spending $5 a day on coffee.

The service was held in the same church as the one where her grandmother, Jackie Kennedy’s service was held.

Among the attendees was former President Joe Biden, who could be seen leaving the church with tears in his eyes.

The report accompanying the new vaccine schedule repeatedly refers to the vaccine schedule as mandated, and coercive. That's patently false, it is a set of recommendations. The authors may be trying to get at school entrance requirements, but those are state policies, not federal.
