#plumpynut
I know there's Plumpynut and its DIY counterpart, Citadel Spread, for fighting refeeder syndrome but that doesn't help starved infants who absolutely require human milk or sterile formula prepared in sterile water (fuck you Nestle), as I understand it.

I don't find her credible. The whole DOGE team was a debacle of "what does this do? Let's destroy it and see what happens!"

I was particularly sad about the plumpynut, food, and medication left to rot in foreign warehouses. Though the destabilizing of our farmers is also a major effect.

I'm interested in who wrote that report now. Because I absolutely support the mission of USAID. The plumpynut to starving children, support for TB and HIV sufferers, and increase of US soft power are things I want our government to do. And for $30 billion a year, it just wasn't much of the budget.

Well don’t forget he already incinerated the USAID’s warehouse full of paid for and ready to distribute Plumpynut. He’s got no problem with hungry, sick children. In fact, it seems to be a goal.

its nearly time for us to ingest plumpynut and nutrient wafers day after day, meal after meal. its not malnutrition, but its not going to feel good.
"The Labor Department warned in an obscure document filed with the Federal Register last week that 'the near total cessation of the inflow of illegal aliens' is threatening 'the stability of domestic food production and prices for U.S. consumers.'”
Trump administration says immigration enforcement threatens higher food prices
U.S. farmers face labor shortages and potential food price hikes due to Trump’s immigration policy, the administration acknowledged in a Federal Registry document.

If Trump and Marco hate Africa so much to waste all of the food and medicine, the least he could do is send it back to the Untied States for people he's starving here. Nearly everyone is getting their Medicaid & SNAP supplements cut. We're going to need some Plumpynut and medicine over here.

It's a specialized blend of peanuts and other ingredients called Plumpynut that is formulated specifically for refeeding. It is NOT a luxury, it's the only food that works for starving people and won't make them sick.
UN: “Kids dying of starvation… what we give them is a peanut butter paste. We’ve been told we can’t bring that in because it’s a luxury.”

It's called Plumpynut and it's an absolutely bare necessity item in dire conflict or disaster circumstances to stave off starvation. That's it. It is not a luxury.

It's sickening that we have stopped producing it. It's depraved that it's being withheld.

I used to know a pediatrician who developed a version of PlumpyNut for use in Malawi. I remember him talking about how significant the results were. It’s not a luxury - it’s a life-saver.

The peanut paste he's talking about is called Plumpynut. 60 Minutes did a segment about it back in 2007. I thought it was amazing.

Israel says Plumpynut is a luxury and won't allow it into Gaza to feed children dying of starvation. The paste contains peanuts, milk powder, sugar, vegetable oil, and essential vitamins and minerals, providing the vital nutrients needed for rapid weight gain and recovery.

Peanut allergies haven’t been shown to be a problem in the populations that have been treated with Plumpynut. There are other Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food products typically made with skim milk powder, sugar, oil, and a blend of vitamins and minerals. It’s important that they don’t need 🔥 or 💧

The USAID company that makes Plumpynut was screwed over by DOGE.

How many kids could have had lunch at school, or malnourished children given PlumpyNut in Africa, for the cost of this banner bullshit? 🤔

I know it’s for treating malnourished kids but PlumpyNut is the goofiest goddamn name

The therapeutic food is designed to bring malnourished kids back from the brink. A new order from the U.S. after months of mixed signals is good news for the Rhode Island factory that makes it.
