It was great to be joined by Kelly and Olivia today for some peatland restoration work 😃 We moved materials, spread heather brash and installed coir netting 💪 This will protect the bare peat from the weather, allowing the vegetation to grow and reducing carbon emissions 🌱💚

Great to see further initiatives to protect peatlands despite frustrating news from the #gardening world today 💪

But peatland restoration in the UK is being undermined by enormous rates of peat extraction for horticulture.

We must #EndPeatSales now to truly protect our peatlands.

Looking back at a great year🤩 We've undertaken work on 300 hectares of #peatland💪 We've continued our peat depth survey and installed a boardwalk to protect the peatland 🌿💦 And we've seen loads of wildlife, from hen harriers to mountain hares and, of course, sphagnum moss 😁 #IsleOfMan
