I get 20 points.

Also, I once knew how to operate a Telex machine, and I was a PBX Operator. Yeah, with cords.

I’ve looked a few times. I run some FOSS capabilities on Linux so not afeared (IP PBX, 2FA back-end). :) Just not found proper equivalents yet… can’t claim the search is constant either :)

I do wonder when the last time was one of these things saw a transmission distance of a few thousand clicks rather from to the PBX and back. :P

My boss told me to move away from the terms Problem Behavior (PBx) and challenging behaviors because it sounds like we are saying “the kid is a problem or a challenge.” Instead she recommended to use the phrasing “behaviors targeted for reduction.” Is this a thing? #BehaviorSky

My real landline (the one that comes with Broadband) is plugged into the PBX too, but is never used.

We have Microsoft 365 A5.

I think it sorta/kinda includes Teams PBX.

Does anyone know what's included with A5 in regards to PBX and what isn't included? I am trying to do a cost comparison to our current SIP trunk.

The more I read about Teams PBX, the worse it seems.

1. User has to sign into Teams native phones?

2. User has to get an auth code to sign into SIP devices?

3. MFA must be disabled for common-area SIP devices?

Teams PBX sounds like a solution Microsoft employees put together against their wills.

@Reuters: Russia lowered flags to half-mast for mourning and people laid flowers after 133 people were killed at a rock concert outside Moscow. Billboards across the capital carried a picture of a single candle, the date of the attack and the words 'We mourn' https://t.co/6JMmLiJCyW https://t.co/pBX

And when making calls to businesses with a PBX, there’s a non-zero chance that the person receiving the call will not have access to the caller ID display.

Even as late as 2018. (We haven’t been in those type of offices since then, but neither spouse nor I had caller ID on our desk phones.)

I can see why they'd use it to distribute delay notices: send up a PBX extension for "send this to all stations", send the fax to it, and let it dial the fax machines in all the train stations to relay the message. Faxback (fax polling) is also stunningly good for distributing commonly-used forms.

"Man that would be great if that was my IT Job as well", I say as I'm wrestling with a Windows Update server, a piece of shit legacy component that keeps crashing when you breathe on it, and (unrelatedly) my company's PBX setup has been broken due to a botched update for the past two weeks
