Come hell or high water, I'm going to VCF Montreal.

I'm just not going to book a *35 hour* flight to make it happen. x_X

Every year I'm guilty of buying my own Christmas presents, because nobody else knew of or where to find some obscure IBM retail computer from the early 90's to which seemingly does not exist on the internet until now.

IBM 4612 SurePoint Mobile computer. Yes, it's just a "Penabled" 486 DOS tablet.

I'm happy to hear that one of the channel's former sponsors has been able to work on and complete his childhood dream of archiving the ReBoot series. It's been fun hearing about his plan of action going back 15 years and here he is now with his name on this.
Well done Mark! 🎉

Woah so it really DOES exist! O_O
The last time I saw one of these I was researching the Optimus Maximus keyboard before it was released (that was 20 years ago??) and never saw it again but I swore it was not a fever dream.

For tomorrow's video, I've had people saying I'm talking too much from Wikipedia, so lets spend 25 minutes saying nothing at all and doing something you won't find on a website.

The post office does not allow you to stick a QR on one side of an ice cube-sized cardboard box and ship that. Apparently the box has to be big enough to fit the 4" x 6" sized stick-on label.
this makes me immeasurably sad. :(

Now THAT is an answering machine! o:
Got a new answering machine. The Western Electric model 1-B from 1955. Still had the original outgoing announcement. Sadly no incoming messages though. Its all tube and has a tone wheel like a B-3 organ for the beep.

Good morning #Vancouver! Good morning #BritishColumbia!
On this day in 1985 you woke up to a new sight to the suburban skyline, a new way to travel around and free rides for its first day in operation after arriving on-time and under-budget as an early present.
Happy 40th birthday to the #SkyTrain!🥳

If during the video yesterday you asked what was up with the TEST sticker, I'll explain.
Most of my GRiD's came from one lot in California this summer. The seller had it listed for a while and received offers, but was not interested in shipping 80lbs of computers and nobody wanted to drive there.
