Well 7 years ago, when I did my practical exam, I could easily navigate by eye following electro-Mills ( you have to do yr exam the old fashion way, with papermap, stopwatch, and compass).

Now the maps cant be updated fast enough. ( even digital ones)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but there's a rad fanmade beta tool that converts your images of battle maps for tabletop roleplaying, scales them to the proper size, then exports them to a PDF for printing and assembly on the tabletop. LITERAL game changer.

They do not do fan collections like these anymore - the box came with making-of-the-game DVD, game, papermap, lore book and game guide book as well a replica of the currency used in the game.

It's not a casual thing to beat a man to death with a copy of FM 5-0, but it is one of many reasons why a local supply of physical, printed doctrine is still important.

I got kindly reminded of this map I made of Skyrim in 2020, and I was honored to have it implemented in-game as a mod 2 years after 😌

This makes me feel so old. Never used a papermap but we had them. Did print out directions on MapQuest and prayed we didn't run into a reroute 😂

Use the IVW Navy papermap (in the theme settings) if you're using the IVW mod lol, it makes the seas look better fitting with the map colors.

I used to be pretty good with maps, actually, but I didn't have one at the time. Only (admittedly very straight forward) directions from people.
I wonder if that would still work, or if that's gone too... Tempted to find a papermap... ;-)
