I've had mySocialSecurity account for years, as well. The point, though, is that I'd still trust USPS over any email service. Granted, it's not like knowing the amount of my increase is of national importance, but hinting that standard email is more secure in any sense ... 🤪

Different kind of confidential. You are referring to security classifications. They are referring to documents that are meant to be private for you.

I've had a mySocialSecurity account for years. Once a year I download and save my earnings statement and benefits statement

I received mine - an email directing me to mySocialSecurity. I think they stopped sending out paper copies some years ago unless you are over 60 and don't have a mySocialSecurity account.

Have you set up a mysocialsecurity account so you can look at and download your contribution history (which you should do once a year, when you file your tax returns). You do that on the Social Security website.

Social Security Administration became a joke under commissioner #FrankBisignano.

Ever since he took charge in May 2025, I’ve received emails from SSA to the address that I used to sign up for a MySocialSecurity account 7 YEARS AGO telling me to get one.

They should know I ALREADY HAVE ONE!

Idiots

You may or may not get back what you paid in. It depends on whether you live long enough to collect, die before reaching the "break even" point, or live beyond the break-even point, in which case you will get more than you paid in.

Set up a mysocialsecurity account. Look at how much you paid in.

Working fine for me. mysocialsecurity goes down fairly often, usually for a brief time. Try it again in a bit.
October 3, 2025 at 5:50 PM
I didn't say it was mandatory. I said it is a good idea. If you are under 60, you don't get the paper statements so mysocialsecurity is the only way to get them.
October 3, 2025 at 3:04 PM
They no longer send those out unless you are 60 or older. That's why you need to go to mysocialsecurity to get them.

You can retire (or not) at any time you like. The issue is when you can claim Social Security. I strongly urge you to set up a mysocialsecurity account and look at the projections of how much you will collect depending on the age when you claim. While there, download copies of your documents.

I checked mysocialsecurity account the other day & it stated that I am to receive my monthly SSA SSDI payment and it better arrive. @mikethompson.house.gov @rephuffman.bsky.social

have only 5 yrs to deal with the problem and that's IF the Democrats can take back control.

If you are already receiving benefits, calculate a 22% decrease in those benefits.

If you are not yet receiving, set up a mysocialsecurity account at www.ssa.gov/myaccount/

Thinking it might be helpful to change my password at mysocialsecurity account, I logged in only to discover that the profile section for doing so only offers two options - change email & deactivate the account. WTF?

If you need your daughter's work history you can make a MySocialSecurity account at ssa.gov under your daughter's name and get a full work history (link on your homepage):

Like many people, I recently received this disgusting email from the SSA. Ask your Representative and Senators if this email is a violation of the Hatch Act? A violation of the mySocialSecurity user agreement? A misuse of federal resources? I did.

I made application via the mysocialsecurity website on April 10 for social security retirement benefits. The web site says I will hear in 30 days. I haven’t heard anything yet. It’s been 87 days. There is nothing unusual about my application whatsoever. Beyond ridiculous.
July 6, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Message says "Create a 'mySocialSecurity' account", instead you have to use either Login.gov or id.me ONLY.
I was IN a Social Security office last month where on the screens in the room it says "we no longer use 'my Social Security'.'.. MAGA left hand doesn't know what MAGA right hand is doing.

I got this as others say as well. I get things from SSA all the time because I have an SSA.gov account.

This threw me because it says “Join the millions and discover your benefits. Open a mySocialSecurity account.” At the bottom. First time they didn’t recognize me as already having one.

SPAM!!
