So the scene where Wally and Marty are facing off the enraged mob of white men they just suckered was probably the most uncomfortable moment moviewatching in 2025- Wally is clearly in fear of being lynched and Marty is still trying to come out ahead - just no winners and no attempt to atone

And with that ends my 3rd Year of my Yearly Film Journal, and my 1st year chronicling my watches on Bluesky! Here’s to another big year of moviewatching in 2026!

Another annual highlight - getting the Flicks crew together to pick the year's best pics.

Shit it's been a good year for moviewatching.

great flick for the fans but i don’t think i’ve ever had a moviewatching experience where i said “nobody talks like that” more times than when watching this one. the dialogue with the child characters specifically is so unnatural that it’s genuinely distracting

remembering the time i watched hisayasu sato's "the gods have a nervous breakdown" and the file opened with a DVR chapter select screen. this is the single hardest thing ive ever seen in all of my years of moviewatching. its still hard to imagine that theres now like 4k releases of his movies

Love to engage in normal moviewatching behavior by keeping a a running tally of every actress I see on screen as virgin or non-virgin

50. Alice in Wonderland

Dusk and I continued our moviewatching and yesterday was the original. it's kind of surprising how SHORT it was, and it kept giving me flashbacks to kingdom hearts. whimsical and surprisingly musical, and any lines i knew via pop culture were apparently just Flagrantly Wrong

Haven't you also been captivated by a woman who doesn't seem strong but is, in a movie or anime? That unexpectedness makes the story all the more interesting. I always get a thrill from that gap.

Minecraft was a kick in the crotch of filmmaking as an art but still a less miserable moviewatching experience than Jurassic World 3
