#mass deportations
if there is a political consideration it is because Trump doesn't think he is getting the thanks for mass deportations and so is trying to be showier because he thinks that will win back the support he's been haemorrhaging but I always think folks credit him with too much nous.

in order to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy and budget increases for militarism and mass deportations.”" 2/2

Why I tell ppl: if you're waiting to elect your way out of these crises, you're not considering that either side you elect is helping them get richer and making you poorer.

Obviously there may be more than one reason but the justification for mass deportations without due process of, and let’s face it, anyone that looks a bit Venezuelan would be my guess.

The thing you absolutely must remember about the Trump admin is that THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH GUYS. They just don't have enough! They don't have enough to do mass deportations, they don't have enough to occupy cities, they certainly don't have enough to suppress regular dissent.
to all the people shitting themselves about Trump somehow magically launching a nation-wide crackdown on American dissenters tomorrow: please do keep this in mind
If this admin actually had any semblance of their shit together, or felt confident about asserting domestic force against mass dissent, they wouldn’t have withdrawn the National Guard from U.S. cities right BEFORE launching an illegal and wildly unpopular war.

Take oil and continue mass deportations via the newly unlocked Alien Enemies Act, which he had SPECIFICALLY been stopped from using. In fact, he had a deadline of the 5th to give due process to deported Venezuelans he had sent off under that act illegally. Well, he can skip it now.
January 3, 2026 at 8:22 AM
But it will unlock the Alien Enemies Act for mass deportations of anyone Trump says is a narcoterrorist now. He was specifically barred from using it because we're not at war. Had until JAN 5 to give deported Venezuelans due process. He got his war.
January 3, 2026 at 8:19 AM
Trump also beat the Jan 5 deadline in his Alien Enemies Act case. He had until that date to return Venezuelan deportees and give them due process. Now de facto war exists with Venezuela and he can claim wartime powers, such as the Alien Enemies Act. Expect uptick in mass deportations.

CEO Alex Karp, once a Trump-loathing Democrat who said mass deportations made “no sense,” now explains that extreme skepticism of immigration is the true path to social justice, especially when implemented with proprietary software called Immigration OS.

This Burn Order episode shows how we stripped Japanese Americans of their rights in WW2 based on their race. What is going on now with mass deportations is just as bad or worse, and as wrong.

Check out Episode 3: One Drop from Rachel Maddow Presents: Burn Order.

Just saw Eric Swalwell talking about the ICE raids and mass deportations, saying “This is not what anyone signed up for.”

Yes, if only there had been some kind of signs that this was coming.

Again proving your brainwashed status. Not many Dems believe in anything other than "sensible" LEGAL immigration. Just b/c there are situations where A PATH for some ppl is a suggested alternative to "mass deportations now" doesn't mean all Dems subscribe to nonsensical positions on immigration.

MAGA is a death cult.

Stephen Miller said he wanted to decrease the US population to 100 million people. Between mass deportations, RFK jr., and the dismantling of the CDC, he’s going to get his way.

I'm sure it's not, but it IS what's happening with "mass deportations now" and anyone with half a conscience could've figured that out before they started kidnapping people and violating the civil rights of immigrants and US citizens alike.
January 2, 2026 at 10:28 PM
With how many people there are (literally thousands) asking Grok to undress women on Twitter then criticize the "civility of immigrants" in the same breath. I am suddenly in favor of forced mass deportations.

Our country needs to have standards, and these people shouldn't be allowed to vote.

“But it remains possible to envision a different ultimate outcome. In it, Miller’s mass deportations mostly fall short, the government mostly follows court rulings, civil society’s resistance holds, and the public backlash to Miller’s masked storm troopers only grows.” @gregsargent.bsky.social
Trump and Stephen Miller are actually failing in crucial ways. Deportations are lagging behind their goals, courts are mostly functioning, and their fascist, ethnonationalist cruelties have unleashed a countermobilization of unexpected scope and power.

Detaining people at ICE check-ins became part of the Trump administration’s strategy for mass deportations, in contrast with Trump’s comments that agents would pursue “the worst of the worst always first.”
Year of the Lies: ‘Worst of the worst’? ICE deports brothers after years of check-ins, good conduct
President Donald Trump said he would prioritize deporting the ‘worst of the worst.’ Government data and personal accounts tell a different story. As of November, 70% of immigrants in detention have…

"Trump wants Iran against violence on protestors....."

Isn't he the same guy who used ICE as his own SS force to attack people protesting mass deportations?

Tax breaks for foreign millionaires but mass deportations for the rest. Huge austerity and NHS cuts, replacing NHS with insurance model, scrapping NetZero, workers’ rights and online safety act. And a trade war with the EU.

ICE is spending $100 million on a “wartime recruitment” drive targeting gun‑rights fans, military enthusiasts, UFC crowds, and people geofenced at gun shows or bases. Recruiting armed ideologues for mass deportations is dangerous.
