When we lived on the shore in Maryland, I had to do this once with our neighbor's dog--an obese choc lab so stupid that he chased a soccer ball into the water, but every time he'd try to bite it, it would go further out and he just...kept going. Had to get the kayak and retrieve both dog and ball.
This teenager saved his neighbor's dog from drowning in a freezing pond. This is Bernard. His family contacted emergency services right away, but high school senior Hugh Pinneo got to Bernard first. Hugh said he's "just glad I acted that day and saved the dog's life." We are too. 12/10 for all
