Happy 29th anniversary to Pokémon. On #lesson-design: visiting classrooms recently, I've been doing a lot of noticing of what (through a lesson) seems to keep pupils #llearning, as it were. This may all be rubbish, but in discussions I've found myself referring to these five 'ways'. Of course, they overlap and work in conjunction.

Thinking of teaching, and thinking back on llearning, the more I realize how much we undersell the "gist." Gist is not a cheat sheet, nor an oversimplified bottom line, the one-limer "take-away." Gist is.more. Gist is a disposition, and dispositions far outlast the classroom
