Working on art for a series I'm trying to write. Havin lots of fun, too! Might be a webcomic at some point. Till then, lots of fanart, random things, work on old WIPs. Good fun!
Concept art piece. A large orb of blood hovers above the dias in the center of a ruined circular room. Broken stone tablets and iron chains litter the ground around the dias. The room is lit by a couple of wall mounted torches crafted in the shape of some horned horror. The blood orb radiates a dim red light, and the spiked humanoid form of the blood god is barely visible inside. Arnkit, full name Arnkit'atla-husfrey'irkir, is the matron dragon of the Forest Flight of the Crulean Crest Tropics, lifemate to Verthrik, mother to four hatchlings: Smara-kogur, Vred'tiss, Herinn, and Kyrvat. She is a large green dragon standing several human lenghts tall, and has a large green crystal floating above her claws. Thicker brown plates run from her forehead down her tail that also supports a large retractable fin like sail that stands a few feed above each plate. She is an envoy of the Dragon Nation to the city of Alabandrin. Mashup fanart of my World of Warcraft Dracthyr character along with many elements of Guild Wars 2. My Dracthyr is in dragon form, wielding the GW2's Timekeeper greatsword in one hand, WoW's Obsidian Edged Blade in the other. Legendary blacksmith's belt around his waist with a Horde flag attached. GW2 golden dragon queen cosmetic attached to the wings. GW2 jeweled headpiece and fire horn cosmetic on the head. Character is in the Auric Basic in GW2, standing on a fallen Anduin face-down in the grass, with other fallen Alliance soldiers and broken siege equipment in the background. Dracthyr is flanked by two dragons: Aurene from GW2, and my WoW Netherdrake from Burning Crusade expansion. The Horde's airship Orgrim's Hammer floats above the battlefield. D&D character concept art: gnome woman with Bard and Artificer work, sitting on top of a copper Draconian warrior. Two tesla coils on either side of her. I decided to add a 'border' to the Toon Zelda/Link one because I'm pretty sure it crops strangely...So, I apologize for that, but I hope it still looks okay! 🥲

Image (Art): This is a sketch done traditionally with colour added digitally, featuring Medli from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker game. It features Medli flying in the sky alongside a seagull done in soft colours. I also included a frame around the two of them using colours from Medli's sash and her Sacred Harp as inspiration. I'll do a digital version at some point and fix up a few things. I also used a pose for reference by AdorkaStock. || Artist: yesbutterfly. With a couple of Blessed Butterflies in the background too. I also drew some bushes behind the pedestal off to the side and various plant growth starting to grow from below the stone ground. I also attempted to draw a frame that would be a stained glass window, but because I'm a bit dumb, I actually drew her a bit too far down, and then couldn't actually put the frame in properly anyway, so that's probably going to be moved or omitted in the digital version. I also included a few gears at the top of the frame that are supposed to reference the gate of time. I was also going with the idea of this maybe being like an illustration in a book with text off to the side, which is why I decided to try to go with a frame like this. || Artist: yesbutterfly. As for the map he's holding if you can work it out...well more power to you! Since I just made it random! The background features my (failed,lol) attempt at attempting to replicate the simple version of the map based on an official piece of art, with a few important items scattered around the border, such as a letter, royal engineer's certificate, a piece of heart, hearts, rupees, the compass of light, force gems, the stamp book, some stamps, and a key. I wanted to draw him looking imposing and smug, so I went with a pose for him where he has his head slightly angled upwards so you can see his full face (I'm sorry), with a sneer on his face. He also has one of his hands raised with the fingers curled in a menacing manner like he's probably giving some sort of evil monologue, or he's going to cast a spell. The piece itself mostly consists of red from the sky (and Agahnim's robes) with orange/yellow tones from the sun in the background, and I attempted to use this push myself to do a bit of dramatic lighting. He's supposed to be in a room simular to the one that he's fought in, so I included some pillars and did a pattern around the 'windows' in order to make them more interesting, and so it was obvious where the window ledge is. For the scenery outside, I just decided to keep it simple with the shape of hills & trees in the background, and the Pyramid of Power as a reference to his second fight and The Dark World... I don't know it's just supposed to look dramatic! I might change a few things when I eventually get around to doing a full digital piece (and fix up a few things), but I'm happy with how it turned out! || Artist: yesbutterfly. He explains how even after trying to teach AI about the "golden rule: treat others as you want to be treated", and failing to make AI have the same moral values as a human, some researchers concluded: "Even a correct moral system might have a flawed implementation, and we should not be too confident that we even have the right starting point." Of course this was more than 10 years ago, when the AI was not fed with the data of billions of humans every day. I wonder if this kind of experiments are still in place, and what the results are now that human thoughts are (unwillingly) used to train the machine.

I planned to finish my June drawing, but I ended up redesigning Vetur (character on my pinned post) after watching some JJK yesterday!

Kirara was a big inspiration...

This is part of a group by Miró documenting his early efforts to deal with revolutionary developments in modern art (Fauvism & Cubism) and to forge his own direction.

This culminated in the early 1920s in the artist’s breakthrough to a style of fantastic, simplified forms, freely and loosely scattered across the surface of his pictures. This exuberance, of the vitality and poetic intensity of Miró‘s later works, seems to underly this strangely powerful portrait, manifesting itself, in the unrestrained rhythms of the dress, barely held in check by the diamond grid in the background, or in the lyrical note introduced by the small flower on the front of the dress. Different, contrasting impulses are brought into uneasy balance through the force of his talent for creating compelling simplifications of the forms before him. The strong rhythms of the dress, wallpaper, and face all vie for attention, as do the various sources of inspiration: the influence of the Fauves and Matisse in the bold use of color, denseness of paint, and flat patterning of the dress and background; the effect of Cubism in the more sculptural, angular treatment of the face; and the impact of the Romanesque frescoes of Miró’s native Catalonia in the linear rhythms of the dress, hair, and background, in the frontal pose, and in the large, staring eyes. This is a painting of dramatic contrasts, between the insistent flatness of the dress and back-ground and the Cubist modeling of the face, between the startling pink of the wallpaper and the restrained black-and-white color scheme of the dress, between the human presence of the sitter and the strong linear patterns that threaten to engulf it. It does not seem surprising, given the impact this portrait still has today, that the young woman who initially agreed to sit for it became frightened both by Miró’s intensity and his strange style of painting, forcing him to finish the portrait from memory. This is one of 35 works that comprise the Winterbotham Collection.

jin holding lora in the style of the pietà, an art piece that depicts the virgin mary holding jesus christ after his death. several artists have depicted it, but this instance takes inspiration from michelangelo buonarroti (the sistine chapel guy lmao). jin is sitting on a block of ice, which blends into the background of ice shards, with his right arm holding up lora and his left arm extended to the side, palm turned up. his legs are spread to support lora’s body. his expression is blank as he stares at lora’s face. his core crystal is red, meaning he has already taken her heart and become a flesh eater. lora is limp in jin’s arm. her head is tilted back, her arms are dangling behind her and over jin’s right arm, and her legs are stretched out. her left leg is partially elevated due to an ice shard in the foreground at her foot. both jin and lora are in their typical gear from “torna: the golden country.” the same image as before, with red splotches to indicate blood on lora’s chest and abdomen, and on jin’s chest, hand, and his core crystal. the red on lora’s abdomen is darker than the red on her chest, since this is the wound that killed her. the red on her chest comes from her heart being taken, which is now with jin. his chest plate is completely red after inserting her heart. his left hand is red from holding her (it’s an artistic choice, don’t worry about it). and a splotch of blood covers his core crystal on his face, with a small trickle falling past his nose on the right side of his face.
