We also support the reintroduction of a risk-based approach to HREDD which is crucial for addressing forced labour, which typically occurs further down the supply chain. We urge co-legislators to adopt these recommendations in the final text.

The proposal is now back to negotiations. We call on the Parliament to keep the scope as it is set out in CSDDD, so more companies are required to conduct HREDD. We support an EU-wide approach to civil liability to ensure victims of harm have access to justice.

The package would have significantly reduced workers' rights and protection offered by the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD), and watered down the Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (#HREDD) obligations within it.

The PROTECT USA Act feels very concerning (& hypocrical). It states no foreign #HREDD law that goes further than US law may be applied to 🇺🇸 companies.

Undermines #RBC & #UNGPs. Plus it criticizes EU's regulations as overreach but restricts...

The EU has just released its #Omnibus package to 'simplify' sustainability regs #CSDDD, #CSRD & EU #Taxonomy.

It removes CSDDD civil liability clauses, limits primary HREDD requirements to tier one & delays application. CSRD also heavily cut.
