Leonard Green Partners who owns Crunch is a monster!

They bought Prospect Medical, a hospital chain meant to help struggling communities.

Senate investigated LGP: found they siphoned $658M from the hospitals, bankrupting some, destroying the only care poor communities had.

LOL college admissions are so broken; this is not what a real high school student looks like. Only the volunteering at the hospital is real. The internship and research is acquired through connections and the student contributes nothing. The nonprofit is entirely fake.

Thank you. The privatized system is set up to maximize profits, not outcomes. What you report for nursing extends even to hospital cleaners. Institutions that contract out cleaning have more hospital acquired infections.

We train twice as many nurses, per head, and we pay them to train. We have the cleanest hospitals with the lowest current Sepsis rate and had the lowest Covid deaths due to far lower hospital acquired infections.

The hospital is a dangerous place to go ... and not just in Wales.

Secrecy is a constant problem with hospitals. Look at infection control - try to find out how many workers (and patients) are killed or disabled by hospital acquired infections. If they even give you numbers, check what they do and do not count. They mark their own homework and bury their mistakes.

Park Hospital District: Asserting its role going forward
More than two months have passed since Estes Park Health was acquired by UCHealth. While the transaction is complete, critical issues of governance, accountability, and public oversight remain unresolved.  The Park Hospital District Board and the district's taxpayers are entitled to clear answers and decisive action. The PHD board has a statutory and fiduciary obligation to the Estes Park community. That obligation requires the board to maintain an active, visible, and authoritative role in the oversight of UCHealth Estes Valley Medical Center.

I have problems with hospital-acquired infections. It feels like we are justifying it when we are doing nothing or little to prevent them, using the idea that the person would have died anyway or the health care workers are too exhausted about wearing a mask

Just saw this. The amounts are far too small, but it's a start. Payouts should be automatic in every hospital-acquired COVID case where aerosol precautions were not in place, and the IPAC leads responsible should be personally liable for a good portion.

They'll stop killing people if it costs them.

Fantastic news! Since ~no one ever does anything other than for power, money, or status, the only way ~anyone's behaviour is going to change is by lawsuits and similar. Patient dies of hospital acquired infection? No one cares. Death *costs the hospital money*? GET US CLEAN AIR AND N95s STAT!

This was probably one reason why measures were dropped everywhere: to remove the risk of liability.
It's such a shame. 10% of patients with hospital acquired COVID-19 die and you cannot sue the hospitals for that.

a) not enough.
b) Did the hospital vow to change infection control practices to try and minimise cases of hospital acquired Covid 19?

Hospital acquired Covid has a 10% fatality rate.

It’s almost completely preventable with respirators and clean air, but healthcare facilities have chosen a policy of forced infection instead.

Let this case set a precedent & start forcing hospitals to adopt airborne precautions!
