I understand completely, heteodyne is extremely useful but it is not the sound of bats, it's something else completely. And personally I seldom use heterodyne detection for real-time alerts, I am pretty much always in time expanded mode and invariably I hear a bat before the heterodyners on a walk.

The heterodyne alerts the user to the presence of bats in real time, it is a notification to look about and see a bat that might otherwise be missed. And of course we get the wonderful feeding raspberry in synchronisation with the action.
