I always feel so old when I'm watching content and they're like "this was my favourite anime as a kid!" -- we had Astro Boy and that was it until I was 14 and we had the DiC Sailor Moon dub. Not that I didn't love Astro Boy! But as a child I very much wanted girl or androgynous heroes.
