Elizabeth I is a 2 part 2005 Anglo-American historical drama television serial broadcast on Channel 4 on 29 September and 6 October 2005. The drama covers approximately the last 24 years of her near 45 year reign. Part 1 focuses on the final years of her relationship with the Earl of Leicester; while part 2 focuses on her subsequent relationship with the Earl of Essex. The cast includes Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Patrick Malahide, Toby Jones, Hugh Dancy, Barbara Flynn, Ewen Bremner and Ian McDiarmid. A Company Pictures production in association with Channel 4 and HBO. Mike Bassett: Manager is a 6 part television series that continues on from the movie Mike Bassett: England Manager. It was shown on ITV from 29 September to 3 November 2005. The series picks up some time after Mike Bassett took England to the semi-finals of a fictional 2002 World Cup and got sacked for not making it to Euro 2004. Since then, spells at Newcastle, Norwich and Colchester ended in sacking after disastrous results. Mike decides to retire and is set to move to Spain, but at the last minute is offered the manager's job at Wirral County FC, the team his father played for. The cast includes Ricky Tomlinson, Amanda Redman, Steve Edge, Dan Renton Skinner, Tim Barlow, Neil Maskell, Michael Fenton Stevens, Adam Tedder, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Gareth Mason, David Gyasi, Richard Bennett, Mark van Eeuwen, Jordan Long and Robin Kermode. There were cameo appearances by Jeff Stelling, Jimmy Greaves and Lucy Meacock. Rock School is a reality television series shown on Channel 4 from 30 September 2005 to 19 February 2006. 2 series totalling 11 episodes were made. Gene Simmons from the rock band Kiss, has a short time to turn a class of schoolchildren into a fully fledged rock band, following which they had to perform in a supporting slot for a leading rock band. In the first series, Gene was at Christ's Hospital, a co-educational boarding school near Horsham, West Sussex. Series 2 saw Simmons at Kirkley Community High School in Lowestoft, Suffolk (now known as East Point Academy). The series was narrated by Christian O'Connell. An RDF Media production for Channel 4. Spoons is a 6 part comedy sketch television show, first broadcast on Channel 4 from 30 September to 4 November 2005. It focuses on characters in their twenties and thirties. Starring Rob Rouse, Kevin Bishop, Josie d'Arby, Tom Goodman-Hill, Rosie Cavaliero, Simon Farnaby, Elizabeth Bower and Kerry Godliman. A Zeppotron production for Channel 4.
