Anyway- i recommend CachyOS or EndeavorOS, i use both for every machine i have, it has been stable (even when i dont update for 6 months on 10+ year old laptops)

these are "tinker" distros... but i dont tinker with my OS, i just want it to leave me alone and i've been perfectly happy with them :3

CachyOS vs EndeavorOS: Choosing the Arch Linux Spinoff That Suits You Best
Arch Linux has long been celebrated—and feared—for its power, flexibility, and complexity. While seasoned Linux users revel in its bare-bones philosophy, newcomers often struggle with the command-line-heavy installation process. That’s where Arch-based spinoffs come in, aiming to make this legendary distro more approachable without sacrificing its speed and customization. Among these spinoffs, CachyOS and EndeavorOS stand out as two of the most compelling options.

I use CachyOS.
CachyOS vs. EdeavorOS: Which spinoff makes Arch Linux easier to use?
They're quite different - with one faster than the other - but both are a great introduction to Arch.

I've had a really good experience with EndeavorOS. But I would tend to agree, if you're doing arch, do it from arch-install and embrace the ethos that goes along with bleeding edge from the start.

The latest EndeavorOS release just solved one of my biggest frustrations with Arch Linux

Ganymede is fast, beautiful, stable, and relatively simple to use.

now that i'm all set up and comfy with my endeavoros install... I can't help but feel the urge to start over and redo everything with a more customized arch install lmao

btrfs snapshotting sounds pretty neat and i think i'm fully niri-pilled at this point too so i might just go for it soon

And from what ive gathered, ill have a more in depth learning experience using something Arch based

But I also want to be able to enjoy using it casually WHILE I learn so EndeavorOS scratches the Arch itch as well as giving me a simple enough starting point to just chill on the laptop if i want

just nuked my vanilla arch for endeavorOS
January 14, 2026 at 3:51 AM
Honest question; why didn't you try EndeavorOS instead?
January 9, 2026 at 10:53 PM
we need an endeavorOS where instead of being bisexual it is for lesbos only

I guess I installed EndeavorOS.

This took 7 hours for me to install, and I broke my bootloader a few times, but uh.

I guess I can say the meme and say I use arch (kind of) now, lol.

A friend of mine managed to fix all the issues I had with KDE and EndeavorOs, so now it runs smoothly. thanks for the help though

I may try that, but I wonder if I should try reinstalling EndeavorOs first. I heard that gnome might be more stable as a DE

What sound settings are you messing with? You should be able to pair any Bluetooth headphones with EndeavorOS easily - I've never found a pair of headphones that don't work on that OS (admittedly only about 5 or 6 sets). What issue are you experiencing?
December 26, 2025 at 11:14 PM
I decided to give Linux (endeavorOS) another try, and while it plays deadlock fine, I cant get my bluetooth headphones to work for shit, apparently theres a sound service that can just stop working if I mess with sound settings too much.

I dont want to give up on it, but is there an easier linux?

EndeavorOS (Arch-Based Distro)
Well, go on, add it in the comments below! 😀

I’ve been using EndeavorOS since March. It’s an Arch based distro and has a much more straightforward setup than just setting up raw Arch. It comes with a real nice setup GUI, comes with a lot of nice desktop environments you can pick from. I personally picked KDE
