#bluebirds
We were successful having bluebirds build a nest and have a family last year, and now a pair is checking out one of our houses. So early! So great to watch them all last year.

Buy live mealworms and start raising them yourself. Bluebirds can be trained to come to your whistle (make up a short tune). Offering live mealworms is the trick. A new family can eat hundreds every day. I trained all the bluebirds in my neighborhood to come to my whistle. It was amazing.

So it's now up to the astronomical community to observe it and determine its magnitudes: are the Block 2 BlueBirds worse than the already outrageously bright Block 1 satellites? Or did the promised (!) countermeasures reduce their impact? Here's how bad the old are: academic.oup.com/mnrasl/artic...

I had several Bluebirds show up today. I was glad to be home to grab the camera and get a few shots.....these little birds are so vibrant against the snow on a sunny day. I have only just started to see them the last three years or so.

1. The Bluebird (New York)
2. I've only seen a bluebird twice. First time was on the nature trail at school (our gym teacher was actually talking about bluebirds when it happened); second time was at home.

Yes and yes. Eastern Bluebirds in my yard year-round! (But Henslow's Sparrow or King Rail would be better state birds)

#Twosday. Some bird duos. Here we have a couple finches talking about their fav recipes, 2 bluejays pretending like they aren't watching me, 2 eastern bluebirds on a spindle feeder and 2 ruby breasted gross beaks. #nikon

(if only because I've never seen Eastern Bluebirds in an urban environment. I also think the NY state bird should instead be a Red Winged Blackbird -- loud and opinionated with a very distinct voice. Common throughout the state.)

☕ Happy Tuesday, dear Penny! Bluebirds and sunlight, what a great way to start the day!

I really love your flowers today, that light purple contrast perfectly with those yellow pistils.

I wish you a wonderful day!

We have bluebirds at our feeder, and I love seeing them. Along with goldfinches, cardinals, downy woodpeckers, red-bellied woodpeckers, juncos, and titmice. Happiness, despite the horrors in the wider world.

You're lucky. Our electric coop cut down all our trees and diversity has really suffered. This time of year I see woodpeckers, juncos, pigeons, nuthatches, finches, house sparrows and some lesser goldfinches. I was very excited a few days ago to see two pairs of mountain bluebirds.

Excuse me, but I think you’re in the wrong line! House sparrow waits between two bluebirds for feeder time.

I’m hope everything is going well for you there! 🦋 There were bluebirds at my window again this morning. I read that they’re becoming more common here in winter, but it still seems miraculous to me! They’re such pretty birds, blue and orange, and shy. 💙🧡🪶🪶🪶

I’m actually feeling awake this morning because the sun is bright and there are bluebirds n my yard. 😊☀️Thank you for the delicious coffee! 🪻🌻Determination… that’s something I really need. Have a happy day!

Did a quick check of our bluebird line the other day, and found that one of our houses had lost its roof. Not an easy climb through the drifts, but soon a new bluebird house will return to the line. And as we recovered the house the bluebirds watched on. #birds #birding #Ontario #Canada 🍁

Good morning Pam. That’s fabulous! Expecting upper 30’sF here, which, believe it or not, feels good. Bluebirds visited my yard this morning!

They do! They're not as pugnacious as some of the little wrens we have around & they're not as mean as our bluebirds (I don't care how pretty they are, they're brutal), but they're socially monogamous & quite sweet to one another. Couples become distinguishable if you keep an eye out.
