I love this amazing beautiful planet.
Garden with passion. Ecology, wild places, climate, nutrition, origami art. Introspective. Mindful. Live with gratitude. Former science teacher, traveler. Politics blue. Try kindness. Photos mine unless reposted.

Here is a look at my backyard from a previous year. Photo is taken from the top of a berm at the rear of my lot, looking down towards the house. Almost all of this was grass when I moved here. Now it’s almost all cultivated. Things have been rearranged a bit since then but the layout is the same. 🌱💙

During the Great Depression, the WPA hired 274 librarians, mostly local women, to carry books from local libraries to rural Appalachian residents, riding 100-120 miles a week, across rugged terrain.

They also prepared special collection scrapbooks with recipes, canning techniques, how-to guides.

Librarians are amazing.

Night night sweet dreamies

The most beautiful souls are those who walked out of the fire, then returned with water for those still in it.

Thank you friends for being so kind to one another 🧡

I’m working with some beautiful origami paper and thought I’d share with you because it has doves and peace cranes. It will become a string of paper cranes with beads. I made a glass pendant to match. Trying to get my mind on something creative and calm for a while. 🕊️

I'm going to lower the bar here. Instead of a good day, let's just try to get through it without an ICE murder. And remember that it's okay to not be okay. Love and peace to you all.

My emotions are all over the place. Flowers don’t feel appropriate, but they do. I chose this one because it expresses mourning and turning inward, yet still reaching out; sitting in both sunshine and shadow.

I think it’s normal to feel confused and conflicted in these uncertain times.

Love ya.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

I took a tour through Mother Nature‘s Ice Art Gallery today. Her ice sculptures are magnificent.
~ I needed the beauty of ice to counteract other current forms of ICE…

This one, “Ice Tree” is Mother Nature showing off her many varied beautiful forms of trees

“In a Cold Caddo Morning”

It was right at freezing when the sun began to rise on Caddo Lake. The cold air over warmer waters caused “lake smoke” to rise throughout the cypress forest creating a ghostly atmosphere. It was enchanting.

Good morning everyone!

Last night there was a big fire near here. Sirens blew for hours and I could see thick billowing smoke and flashes of orange.

I haven’t gone to see the damage but I think I know what burned and I’m heartbroken for my neighbor.

(Photo unrelated except in mood.)

Good morning everyone!

Brrrr! It’s -18F here. As terrible cold and dangerous storms arrive for many of us, I hope you have the food and supplies you need, that your home is warm and that your power stays on. Please be careful out there!

A little bit of summer for you…
