I love this amazing beautiful planet.
Garden with passion. Ecology, wild places, climate, nutrition, origami art. Introspective. Mindful. Live with gratitude. Former science teacher, traveler. Politics blue. Try kindness. Photos mine unless reposted.

Here is a look at my backyard from a previous year. Photo is taken from the top of a berm at the rear of my lot, looking down towards the house. Almost all of this was grass when I moved here. Now it’s almost all cultivated. Things have been rearranged a bit since then but the layout is the same. 🌱💙
Today’s milkweed is suave and silky. Not easily ruffled.

This rooster crows ‘Good Morning!’ from the front porch of an antique store.

I hope your day is joyful!

Good morning Bluesky!

Another flower that has bravely stood against the cold for many days. (Taken just a couple days ago.)

And a shout-out to our veterans who have served our country so well. ❤️

Today’s milkweed has her hood pulled tightly over her cheeks and long, silky gray hair, trying to keep the cold out.

Good morning everyone!

It was a cold night but these survivors are determined to keep letting their light shine. Actually I think the brown edges make them more beautiful.

So…challenges? Burned around the edges? Keep going, you’re beautiful.

Have a good week! 💛

A dear friend made me step outside in the midst of work stress, as a reminder to breathe and see the beauty all around. He wanted to show me this sweet little rose he noticed that had survived our recent cold weather-he knew it would make me smile🥰
Then we made more lovely fall-time discoveries

Ms. Mantis on my front porch just now. This time of year the adult females sometimes wander to find new spots to lay their egg cases - I relocated her to a flowering shrub where she can fatten up on bees and stay hidden from birds. She’s a native species here (Stagmomantis limbata). 🐙🌿 #Bugsky

We will remember them

Not just today, but in every quiet moment.
In stories passed down, in poppies worn with pride
In the silence that speaks louder than words

Their courage shaped our peace.
Their sacrifice lives on

Today & Forever

A small scene from my garden, yesterday. Staying low, out of the cold wind.

Today’s milkweed is a very soft video. No surprise ending; just relax and enjoy a gentle moment. ☕️🫖

Happy Sunday, Bluesky!

I found these sweet survivors in the garden yesterday.

A pair of tiny radish flowers, refusing to let sub-freezing nights deter them from their mission.

Have a beautiful Sunday, everyone. Stay strong.

I was raking, just now. The leaf in the upper right corner of the first photo made me drop my rake and rush indoors for my camera.

Sometimes, out in nature , my heart overflows to the point where I want to cry.
