A month or two ago I learned that if I made a circular nest out of blankets on any surface (even an already pretty cozy bed!) Daisy would be like 30% more likely to settle down and take a nap. For a border collie, those are pretty great numbers, so now I'm making dog nests everywhere.

What can you do. I don't go out in the winter unless I have to esp on ice. Thankfully my last appt till I get another one was this morning so I'm golden for a bit. Just cozy up with some warm blankets in my sweats and watch some tv.

In Phl Queens rock romance:

Kyle - 1st gig from when Katie leans her head on his shoulder on the drive to seeing how happy she is after the gig

Katie - slow build from day 1, but two big points being Kyle's cocky 3rd gig intro and then definitely his reaction to an incident on her birthday

I carefully reach over and ever so gently pull the earbud from her ear to let her rest quietly. Katie’s hand lifts up, takes the earbud from me, and places it back in. Never opening her eyes, she smiles and twirls her finger in a circle indicating “Keep going.” Then she wiggles and snuggles in deeper into my shoulder, placing a hand on my bicep. She moves her cheek slightly against the fabric and strokes my arm with her thumb. Her voice is a soft whisper, “I like this sweater. Mmm, soft. And keep playing for me, please.” It is such a small gesture, but in that moment my world changes. Everything but the two of us and that backseat could cease to exist and I would not even notice. Just Katie Moon and me. Katie who has apparently stopped teaching me for now and is just listening, enjoying my music. Enjoying being with me — snuggling my shoulder. I start playing again, but this isn’t practice, this is playing for my audience of one. The only person in my world during the rest of this drive. I want to apologize to them for ruining the night, but am struggling to find the words. Kyle kneels down in front of me and cautiously puts a finger under my chin. He must think I am fragile and will either shatter or explode at him. I do not know if he is wrong. He lifts my head up enough to look at me with so much gentleness it might destroy me anyway. He says, “You need to decide. Either a wonderful night watching terrible movies and eating too much ice cream, or…” A sly grin forms. “Or, you can go out there on that dance floor and have the most amazing time. Both choices are fine. Or something else entirely. But the choice is up to you.” The sly grin shifts into an intense look that pulls me in so hard that I feel myself falling. “Do not let that filth have that power over you anymore. Take that power back from him. You, only you, get to decide how tonight ends. Not him.” I want to look into those eyes forever. I want to kiss this man like he has never been kissed before. I want to do things to this hero all night that he only secretly dreams about. What strikes me the most in this intense, magnificent moment is not how badly I want Kyle tonight, but the realization that I have been wanting him for a long time. Not just fantasizing about an Imaginary Kyle. I want and need this man in front of me.

Ah, man. I woke up tired so I started to doze back off while P brushes his teeth, etc. Well, he couldn’t see me in my tangle of blankets so he squeezed my leg to make sure I was still in bed. I think that represents peak cozy.
