"The antidote to billionaire-dictated media is alive already in the form of grassroots, independent publications that build their work in line with the values of justice, equity, and the pursuit of liberation. ... Grassroots-funded journalism isn’t just a theoretical aspiration; it’s a practice."

News... is there such a thing?

What used to be news stations just pump out infotainment to their bubble, dictated by their corporate/billionaire overlords.

Journalism is dead. Now, shoddy stories with no confirmation of facts are boosted by bot farms.

the wealth and power buy "truth", though, effectively. At least for now. The information environment, especially in politics, is almost completely dictated by (maybe competing, if we're lucky) billionaire interests. And boy it's going swell, I've seen the reports about it

This country is in its current grim state because whoever’s in government allow themselves to be dictated to by the kind of billionaire media bosses who print this drivel.

Because they are dictated to by billionaire media talkies

People have pointed out that all of the day's politics in Westminster, including PMQs, was dictated by a foreign billionaire in the US.

Media bubble cults are weakening America. Step out of the billionaire dictated Fox bubble.

Silly me all this time thinking success in sports is dictated by winning games when it’s actually whatever the idiot billionaire tell us it is.
Ishbia on the Suns expectations:

"I hope that we win more games than we won last year, but the truth is, it's not going to be measured in wins and losses this year, but it is going to be measured in success"

I always wonder where the "it's about sovereignty" Brexit idiots are when our country is being dictated to by a foreign billionaire.

From my observation it's usually someone that your mutuals are following or based off posts with specific keywords that you've interacted with that show up. I'm okay with it because at least there's no Central algorithm dictated by some douchebag billionaire to tell you who to follow.

Bold idea. Imagine a government where decisions aren’t dictated by billionaire tantrums. Sounds like actual democracy.

I now just assume all these articles and headlines are dictated directly by the billionaire CEO owners of each news outlet and makes it make slightly more sense

Dems need to win people over by actually having a principled agenda that isn’t dictated by billionaire lobbyists.

Stop funding billionaire asshats

The NFL should build, own, operate the stadiums.

State, county, city should "GET OUT of business way" and simply collect taxes, fees, fines, etc. dictated by law.

I once feared that the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which removed the meaningful limitations on consolidated media ownership and began the race to the bottom, would ruin our media landscape. If anything, I was too optimistic because now a billionaire dictated agenda is force fed via propaganda.

The Santa Barbara News-Press was 1 of only 6 papers in the entire USA (& the 2nd biggest) to endorse Trump in 2016. This did not reflect the views of most Santa Barbara residents, but was a position dictated by the paper's billionaire (by divorce) owner, Wendy McCaw. www.politico.com/magazine/sto...
These Are the Only 6 Newspapers in the Country to Endorse Donald Trump
No candidate has ever received so few endorsements. So what were the Waxahachie Daily Light, the Santa Barbara News-Press and others thinking?

also for $20 less a year you could have a nice brand new shiny print version of The Onion every month, whose coverage is notably *not* dictated by a billionaire.

If these decisions are to be dictated by billionaire hedge fund managers, perhaps universities should dispense with the charade of having Boards of Overseers/Governors/Regents/whatever.
Alternatively, these boards could do their jobs and (politely) tell interfering weirdos to pound sand.

comment on it is in the dozens.
