I live near where this happened. I've heard the bicyclist was not in the protected bike lane but in the bus lane. It happened early in the morning, 5am, when it was still dark and the truck driver, trying to turn onto 57th Street, may not have seen her. I'm hoping for her quick recovery.

Cyclists in my town refuse to use the bike lanes provided for them to use. Just today, another one crossed in the middle of a block to ride on the left car lane instead of the special lane on the right designated for bicyclist to use.
