Today I am delighted to join the blog tour for The Winter Job, the latest novel by Antti Tuomainen, translated by David Hackston, and to wish both a very happy publication day. I love Antti's writing so have been looking forward reading this latest offering for what felt like forever. Okay. This may be a very short update as I have done nothing. Well, not quite nothing as I did work and training type things that all help me in the long run and go to show that you can teach and old dog new tricks. But exciting life type stuff … well yeah. Not so much going on there right now.

Today I am delighted to be re-sharing my review of the The Burning Stones by Antti Tuomainen, to celebrate its paperback release. I love Antti's writing, especially his comedy tinged crime fiction, and this book was another absolutely brilliant addition to my library. How have we gotten to the middle of August already? I swear these months are getting shorter and I have less and less to show for them as well. Working week so not a lot has happened, although I did manage a couple of walks, when the temperature cooled enough to make it survivable, and the ducks, moorhens and swans seemed grateful for the company, if a little confused to see me in an evening rather than at seven am.

And another week has ended, flying by in what has been, quite frankly, a bit of a blur. Work is a little odd at the moment, for a variety of reasons. Not bad odd, but busy and potentially taking unexpected turns. Makes the days pass quickly though, I guess. I have a run of half days and days off the next few weeks, aided by the Bank Holiday at the end of the month too, so looking forward to them.
