I am ABSOLUTELY RAGING, pals. When I had my stroke the medical team knew a) I had fibro b) I’m hypermobile.
Did anyone bother to mention I was at risk of increased allodynia because of (a) and potential claw toe because of (b).

My foot recently joined the pain party and started hurting to put weight on my heel.
My excess skin makes it hard to find clothes, but not as hard as my allodynia from my fibromyalgia. Touch can hurt, and I have far more skin than I need or want. Less skin, less pain. That’s what I need. 🧵

Managing #Autoimmune condition has been an increased challenge the last few weeks with added stress of what is happening in #Minneapolis. Its like a game of whack-a-mole with symptom flares from hypnotic jerks to allodynia & paresthesia to severe bursitis & more. Just trying to get through.

I told my rheumatologist about one of my symptoms and she goes “ oh, that’s allodynia” and I’m like “ actually I did know the name because i googled it once 👉👈”
She said it was good I had done research. Most doctors hate that.

Genetic identification of mouse trigeminal afferents responsible for mechanical allodynia
Peripheral mechanisms of mechanical allodynia after nerve injury remain unclear. Li et al. identify a subset of trigeminal afferents in mice activated by facial brushing after nerve injury. Targeted manipulations reveal these neurons’ causal role in pain-like behaviors and heightened sensitivity, providing new insights into primary afferents underlying mechanical allodynia.

Oh, that makes sense. I'd say I haven't had a migraine this week, but maybe one's coming? I have a lot of nerve problems, and this could be anything from aura to allodynia due to fibro/small fiber neuropathy.

I'd choose a chair without headrest and arms due to allodynia (pain caused by stimulus that wouldn't normally elicit pain, such as from the slightest touch or pressure) caused by the severe stress caused by assessments. According to this non-scientific, judgmental b*stard I’d be judged as ‘OK’.

Could be allodynia (nerve sensitivity especially in the scalp/face, sx of migraines) causing the pillow touching to cause lots of pain? If you have a neuro definitely mention the sudden changes!!! And keep a log if you can since things are different!

My body revolted against me today, likely finally caving into the last week of stress. Started in the middle of the night with the worst pain flare, with allodynia as a bonus, but just one of the worst fibro flares I've had in a long time. Meds not managing well but trying to power through.

idk if anyone can relate but I have some weird... I think it's allodynia pain... half the time I touch the part above my lips. Like if I don't touch it, it's fine. If I touch it, it feels like I'm being stung. This isn't all the time tho

I cannot stand weighted blankets. I have allodynia from my fibromyalgia, and even gentle pressure can hurt my skin.
