Vårdö Church, Åland Islands, where in 1854 John Bythsea & Finlandssvensk William Johnstone performed the action that led to 2nd & 3rd awards of the Victoria Cross. The citation records they intercepted Russians with the mail, but in fact local Ålanders were the ones working the mail route.

Well, as a Finn we have Åland as autonomic country, Ålanders were asked publicly would they want to change for Sweden or be independent. In which they said even though they speak swedish, they do not see themselves as swedes. Finland also gives Åland ways for the money to flow. Have you done similar

Of the Finns, on the other hand, Fenno-Swedes are among the ones who know their proper sauna, also the Ålanders do.

I can well understand that because then there would be no homes for Alanders on their own islands. The core issue is the protection of Minority Rights. This also the reason why the EU makes an exception for tiny Lichtenstein on freedom of movement of people.

#Åland leads #Finland when it comes to #paternity leave! I recently spoke on YLE Vega about my experience as a father on parental leave and how Ålanders take more paternity leave than anywhere else in the country.

I agree with you and Ålander here. Prob. a bad fit for Ukraine. I think Ålanders point about the role of other nordic countries during those times is an important one.

I fear that an emerging interest in Finlandization now could be a bad sign, an effort to try to find an excuse to back out.
