Today in things traincrew shouldn't have to do: Tell passengers not to throw bread rolls at each other across the aisle. One group took up a disproportionate amount of my time this evening. I wonder how they would feel if I turned up at their workplace and made things difficult for them.

My thoughts are with all affected by the tragic incident on 1Y90 yesterday evening at Huntingdon. As a member of traincrew it really does hit home more when a severe incident happens on one a train.

I second all those messages for the dedication of the traincrew and all onboard crew . It must have been a very traumatic event for them all.

This is one thing I stress to traincrew sometimes: without the trains feeding the hubs, places like Birmingham New Street, Leeds, Manchester Picc/Vic and Glasgow Central/Queen St would be pretty useless.

I am on a train from Coventry to London Euston.
The train I was due to get on wasn't going the whole way due to a shortage of traincrew. So I changed at the next stop, knowing that their next train to Euston was in 20 minutes.

The only way this will be solved will be to recruit more traincrew and bring Sunday into the working week. At my company it’s been in since 1997. But as a part of that we got a fat pay rise. Nobody is going to give up Sundays for no money unfortunately

Trains are currently being diverted via the "classic" line due to engineering work on the high-speed line. They are not able to run at high-speed on the line involved. Unfortunately no level crossing is 100% safe. This is exactly the kind of incident that all traincrew are trained to deal with.
