In obscure news, the critical in-line station at Tukwila Int Blvd Station for the Stride BRT is now moving forward.
Initially put on hold due to a failing fish culvert, the culvert has been repaired and the project is moving forward

Council advanced amendments to zoning and use tables to treat Sound Transit’s operations-and-maintenance facility (OMF) and light-rail infrastructure as industrial/public-transportation uses in appropriate zones. City staff said edits reflect the facility’s industrial character and include draft notes on noise, emissions and landscaping.

This is big news: Sound Transit is proposing to launch a new overnight ST Express network, once Federal Way and East Link are both fully operational.
There would be three routes: Everett-Seattle, Lakewood-SeaTac-Seattle, and Redmond-Seattle. Headways are still TBD, but expected to be around 30 min.

I like trains better than busses - but more bus coverage (and esp. for overnight coverage when the trains aren't running) is always good. Well done #SoundTransit.
Large ridership day @soundtransit. I've had dispatch scanner on six hours and they're now trying to sync with Sounders fans. Some packed trains, lots of quick spot delays, extra trains deployed, no blockage alerts. "Bend but not break" seems like a theme. How's your ride?

Federal Way Link Extension pre-revenue testing will begin on September 24th! That means you’ll see 4-car trains running every 8-15 minutes on the extension, and passengers will be kicked off at Angle Lake!
