I wish I could take public transit without getting sick.
It's not so bad on local transit but the international traveller (ie Shirakawago bus terminal) plague mélange gets me every time, through a mask. I assume I'm getting infected through my eyes.

Week 2 of car-free rural life.
I'm taking the Meitetsu bus to Shirakawago (it feels like the 7 train, its so nostalgic!!!) and then the local bus + 6km hike back to the house. Tomorrow is the last foreseeable sunny day so I must be there to do concrete patching.

I had literally just bought a very cool handmade card holder made by a local artisan in the outskirts of Nikko, put my card in there and 2 days later I had already lost them... 😭

Fun fact, while we were in Japan and just about to travel to Shirakawago, a tourist just going to the bus station got attacked by a bear 😅
Maybe you should reflect on... That bear being right behind you???
