Soulcalibur V was far better than it ever got credit for, and some of the new generation genuinely outshone their predecessors—Leixia, Natsu, and Xiba especially, though Pyrrha and Patroklos felt more like side-grades. That being said, I loved Pyrrha Ω more than any of the previously mentioned.

Bad news I thought about this again and I think Soul Calibur should have forcefemmed Patroklos with crystals to resemble his teacher and that's how it should have ended with Omega Pyrrha and Alpha Patroklos (crystal kimono very) wandering the land for ways to heal.

I don’t really know Ancient Greek, but the singular was not “ps”, it was “ψ” (κύκλωψ), for the pronunciation of which ψ “ps” is a decent approximation.
Pes is certainly the plural in modern Greek, and I believe in Ancient Greek too, as King Patroklos says. Κύκλωπες.

Speaking of let downs, this is why you don't rush your games, people! The opening final battle between Siegfried and Nightmare is absolute cinema but they dropped the ball HARD with Sophitia's kids, and the other new kids basically have nothing going on. A potentially good story squandered. Bummer.

I see Patroklos often regarded as the worst Soul Calibur character of all time and, while I agree, it's less that I hate him and more I'm bummed because of what he could have been. Yes, Patty's an asshole, but they clearly intended for him to redeem himself much like Siegfried did. But the rush to get the game out hampered his story as well as that of everyone else's (and query whether it would have been as strong for Patroklos as it was for Siegfried, since the former doesn't have 5 games worth of history and build up leading to his heel/face turn.) Also, farewell ZWEI! We hardly knew ye.

For a game I like that everyone dislikes: Soul Calibur 5. For all the flack the story receives (and don’t get me started on Patroklos’ introduction), I thought its fighting system was pretty solid.
For a (pair of) games I dislike that everyone likes: Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Enough said.
