My Nan and her sister grew up in Parrsboro. Visiting there was also "down home"

We all definitely say we're going "down to the valley"

And as an aside visiting our family on "The Island" is PEI.

The SS Beaver now calls at the following points in the Minas Basin: Windsor, Wolfville, Canning, Maitland, Bass River, Parrsboro Pier, Spencer’s Island. Besides quite a large freight business, the Beaver also carries passengers between the different points in the Bay. Nov 16 1898

Absolutely. Also, counterbalance, my friend came here a year ago this month from Arizona for the eclipse and we had a fantastic time on the Miramichi as well as in Parrsboro & Hfx. Thankfully lots of decent & thoughtful people do come.

The Parrsboro shore is definitely worth a drive. The road to Cap D’Or is a challenging ride, twisty, hilly, muddy, eroded and it makes most dirt roads seem palatial. But the reward at the end is great

The barkentine Calcium was launched at Parrsboro at 3 o’clock this morning. The launch was witnessed by a large crowd. She was immediately towed down the river, and will sail for Greenland in a day or two. Aug 27 1896
