The real benefits with that feature comes with hdmi (digital) sources. Auto load different scaler settings based on the game (via game-id), between Gamecube & GBI output, per game res. in XBOX Stellar direct mode, per hdmi system: N64Digital,PS1Digital,PS2 RetroGEM,...

I deleted my PS1Digital FW by following a bad BDT support message from the forum. The re-flash was my first experience both with flashing embedded devices and crimping wires for PCB headers. More work than I wanted, but the wire crimping tools & skills have been helpful since.

Flashed latest firmware on PS1Digital trying to prepare for son's MGS1 journey. Screen kept flashing under 240p. Flashed an older fw and damn thing bricked. Unbricked it with USB serial flashing and it goes back to flashing. Wasted entire night. Good job well done🤡
