I can relate, although I rarely attempt to overtake these days because my knees, plus being somewhat out-of-shape (I'm working on it!), won't allow it.
I guess I'm mostly the overtakee not the overtaker nowadays!

I don't know why this isn't more common, but often, if someone is overtaking, I slow right down. It lets the other vehicle overtake quicker and at lower speed.

I stick to them but I get tailgated/overtaken a lot. I got overtaken while doing 30 in a 30 zone the other day. On a road with lots of junctions, shops, pedestrians etc. Of course, I caught up with the overtaker (Audi, obviously) at the next lights. Some people just have to drive too fast. Because?

I have always been a conservative overtaker because we have never had a powerful car and I am aware of my limitations in assessing distance. But yes, she is peppy.

Personally I don't think it should matter whether or not a driver is the overtaker or the one being over taken. Either a car deserves room, or it doesn't.
If you want to set a distance, like "alongside the wing mirror" then fine, but that should apply both ways. #f1
