A lucky day! Went to a new site where #NorthamptonshireBirds had report of a Smew a couple of days ago. Saw it in very poor light and distant before it dived. FRom the opposite side it looked to be in the rushes so doubly fotunae t catch it away from the bank. @mikealibone.bsky.social
