By 2018 me and other staff were beginning to realize we’d signed on for a flawed strategy. We started agitating for a much stronger bill. Effectively that alienated us from the nyrenews coalition, which was driven by personalities and groups that were committed to their approach. /6

First off the clcpa was a product of the NYRENEWs coalition, which was effectively a product of the NY WFPs political strength and enviros/enviro justice groups for policy. It decided on a strategy that led to the CLCPA’s passage. /2
