As someone with dyscalculia, I always found D&D very difficult to play. There's a lot of math involved, and I never figured out which dice to roll and when. I found White Wolf and Ars Magica's D10 system much easier to understand. The math didn't pull me out of the game.

(My guess, which shows up in the thread, is that "the fae" appears very recently once "fairy" becomes a slur for homosexuals, so you get Ars Magica's Faeries and pop-Wiccan "Fair Folk" and the D&D's Faerûn and later the Feywild to avoid those connotations.)

Ask the people who know me, literally every time Madoka Magica's darkness comes up i insist that every magical girl show has that feature. The only difference is that with Madoka Magica, it's the point, not a background conflict.
You can tell the media literacy and level of complicated subjects the average American cartoons only watcher/Disney Adult is capable of by the fact they think Madoka is a grimdark show and not a pretty standard mahou shoujo of the era. No wonder they often don't really handle adult media well either

If I remember correctly, I believe it was because one of Magica's plans to get Scrooge's Lucky Dime fell at the starting gate; she wanted to trick Scrooge into drinking a love potion, so that he would be smitten with her, thus allowing her to get near the Dime without any objections.
