#JU-06A
Yeah the knobs do look rubbish. The noise thing seems to vary, at least with Boutiques. No problem on the SH-01a, but the JU-06a had a horrible whiny USB noise. I suppose the S1’s battery overcomes that, though

I’ll spread the word. I already have the JU-06A and also not allowed synths for at least 3 months.

decided to chill out and play one of my synths.
Tonight it’s the Roland JU-06a

i'm getting the feeling the ju-06a is a love/hate relationship:

love the accessibility of the faders and the flexibility of the sequencer and arpeggiator together

hate the way you have to button combo your way through it and the short pattern length (which can be worked around but isn't ideal.)

I’ve decided I’m going to recap the pro-one and sell it. I’m also going to sell the MPC Live (hiding behind the Roland JU-06A) and use the proceeds from both to get a Prophet-10. Haven’t decided if I’m going to keep or sell the Roland yet - could be fun to keep for the kids

I don't have a deep need for the launchkey but the JU-06A is real tempting, I gotta tell ya

if anyone is eager to buy a Roland Boutique JU-06A desktop synthesizer and/or a Novation Launchkey 61 MK2 MIDI controller, VG+ type shape and lightly used and in-box, I know a guy who is selling them for local pick-up/delivery in the Chicago area

I produced a full synthwave track using the Roland Boutique JU-06a for all tonal parts (a cover of "Sonar" by Krosia). (The JU-06a is an emulation of both the Roland Juno-60 and Juno-106.) Synth details/opinions and production notes in the video captions. #roland #cubase

I've heard people say that! Was considering the Roland JU-06A. Not a DX7, of course, but certainly a competitor.

oh I'm absolutely not expecting accuracy at a price this low but I've heard really good sound samples that have me tempted. I'm at the point where I think I might just get the micro then save up for a roland copy like the ju-06a or something

maybe I just get the JT Micro then save up for a JU-06A...

As one can imagine, trying to recreate Alpha Juno patches on a -106 (or, well, technically -106 emulation via a JU-06A Boutique) is quite difficult

But I've gotten pretty close with patches I've actually used! So at least it can sorta-kinda serve as a good stand-in for my Alpha at cons

I’ve only been using it for a few hours, but so far I really dig it. The Pro-1 particularly complements my Roland JU-06A & Korg MS2000. I’ve got a bass patch worked up that’s demanding some use, so I guess I need to start working on a new song. Lol.

Leaning towards having my MC-707, TB-03, JU-06A and Volca Bass come along for the ride.

Might sorta-kinda work to mimic my main studio setup. MC-707 as the brains and pseudo-mixer/fx unit, TB-03 for teh acid, JU-06 for polysynth duties, Volca Bass for monosynth duties

Despite the fact that we said we weren't doing gifts (don't worry I didn't come empty handed either) my partner surprised me with a two-tier stand for my Boutique modules which looks exceptional. Also a bundle of amazing looking gummy roses she made with sour strips and sour straws??? 🥰

I keep nearly bagging an S1….just really not sure I’ll enjoy using it, although it sound very good. The small form factor might work better with knobs, compared to the faders on the JU-06a & SH-01a (they lacked the “travel” needed to find the sweet spots on the original synths)

Re-organizing the synths today at Negative Agent HQ, and I added a Roland R-8M drum module to the rack. I feel like this’ll add 28.6% more stomp to the music. No, wait - 28.8%. Yeah, that’s the good stuff.
