I hear you about the cold.It seems relentless there in the last few weeks. Comforter and book weather!

For me, I'm reading plenty, making some music and chores around the house. I still get out to walk in the park in the rain but the mountains and forests are not in good shape unfortunately.

The first time I heard A Night At The Opera was at a friend's house. I had their vinyl collection to myself for the afternoon and since I was always curious to what music people listen to I played most of their albums.

Thronesdb Random for 3/2 is a big reason to play Kingdom of Shadows out of Lannister rather than Martell or Tyrell. It allows Shadows decks to dodge resets and 'rebuy' all their "After CARDNAME comes out of shadows" triggers. It's real good.

Since I was a big fan of the American industrial movement—basically because it was electronic—it made sense for me to use this form. The Purple Onion comedy and music club in San Francisco was legendary. It operated in the 1950s and 60s. It was a cellar club in North Beach. Somewhere in the house I have a bootleg cassette of Woody Allen performing there.

One evening I was talking with my friend Brad (of Brad Bru & the Crowd Goes Wild). He asked if I was going to do February Album Writing Month, and I said I'd written about 150 songs and really what I needed was to record more of them. He wisely suggested I turn it into February Demo Making Month. I wasn't able to do it at the time, but the idea stuck with me. So, in February of 2021, while the pandemic dragged on, my new band had to stay on hold, and I was missing my friends, I started forming the idea for a full length studio album based on various complicated aspects of friendship and featuring some of my talented musician friends, as an excuse to get to work with them again. I started out with piano and vocals or guitar and vocals depending on the song. With nobody to collaborate with, I kept adding songs and adding tracks over the course of the next year, just me, my Zoom mic, and a web-based DAW, for about 1.5 hours a week when I had the house to myself, until I had made a complete demo of the whole album. For the first time I had a clear example of what I wanted this band to be. A few vaccines, some serious discussions, and a strategic Facebook post later, The All Hail Hereafter finally existed, and we started working on the songs together. We recorded, mixed, and mastered this album over the course of about a year, but for me, it's been a five year journey to see it come to fruition. Friends Like These comes out on Bandcamp this Friday, February 6th, and in the near future it will also be available on many streaming services. It's kind of scary, but also thrilling. I think if you enjoy music you'll find something to like about it. I'm quite proud of it, and I'm so grateful. 💙 ~ Joanna ~
