A little more discussion about the return of Pacific and Indigenous Ancestors. An episode highlight was hearing how curators converse with items in their care.

It just reinforced that we need more conversation about Australian collection repatriation to the Pacific.

Today in 1987, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev signed the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, the first to ever require verifiable elimination of an entire class of weapons (missiles only, not nuclear warheads). Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from this treaty on August 2, 2019.

The Low Slitt Lead Mine in the North Pennines was once a bustling hub, with over 100 men extracting lead ore. At its peak, 100,000 tons were mined before its 1878 closure due to cheaper imports. Today, only ruins remain of this once-thriving industry.

My students had questions, claims, case-studies, arguments and I couldn't be prouder.

A student argued he should be allowed to "write" his research paper with AI bc it's an important new tool and blah blah. I suggested I could also grade it with AI. What then will we have accomplished?
