On August 31, 2025, the Trump administration attempted to illegally deport over 180 Guatemalan children. Organizations like NILC, Children’s Law Center, and FIRRP stepped in to protect their rights.

It is important to defend #refugees and #immigrants, ensuring their rights and providing support.

"Let me say this clearly: this administration is targeting children." Lillian Aponte Miranda, ED of @florenceproject.bsky.social.

She shouts out their sister nonprofits (@theyoungcenter.bsky.social is a FIRRP partner, we love them) who are seeing this every day in children's detention facilities.

The Florence Project is standing with immigrant children and holding the line against the Trump Administration's attacks on immigrants and their families. I'm proud to stand with them. Visit firrp.org to learn more about how you can help, too. #FIRRP

From KNAU news headline yesterday, I believe Annalise of FIRRP had an impact resulting in both AZ Senators asking for investigation of ICE ambushes at immigrant hearings.
While in D.C., Annalise also met with the offices of Senator Mark Kelly, Representative Yassamin Ansari and Representative Greg Stanton to discuss recent attacks on immigrants and the need to restore funding for legal education and representation for adults and children in immigration detention.

Run an auction and send the proceeds to FIRRP

Are you saying you’re not allowed to provide legal services or gov’t funds to do so were cut? I.e., if the former, what are the requested donations to be used for? (FYI I have previously donated to FIRRP)

Not provided by the government. No public defender-type representation. Hence the need for orgs like FIRRP.

I don’t think you’re misreading it. I believe the service provided by FIRRP here is more akin to education than legal representation, and ICE controls access to the detention facilities and can bar these education services.

FIRRP (Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project) has a guide for making a family plan to preserve parental rights if immigrant parents are picked up by ICE. It's targeted to families in AZ becc FIRRP is there & Prop 314 passed, but a lot of the info will apply anywhere.
