Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project
@florenceproject.bsky.social
The Florence Project is a nonprofit organization providing free legal and social services to women, men, and unaccompanied children in immigration custody in AZ
In a climate that often relies on fear, separation, and dehumanization, love is a public act of resistance. Through collective action, we can affirm immigrants’ humanity, dignity, and belonging, while calling attention to the real harm caused by current immigration policies and enforcement practices

Congress is negotiating DHS and ICE’s budget right now and considering sending even more money to expand detention – on top of the 45 billion dollars allotted through the OBBA over the next four years. Conditions in detention are deteriorating through overcrowding and lack of oversight.

This is yet another escalation in the Trump administration’s attacks on immigrant children. It’s completely inappropriate to give kids these notices, at any time, but especially just as they have arrived to the U.S. and before they have the chance to consult an attorney.
