I won’t be topping my #Ecolawn at 65mm for at least a week as it’s currently buzzing with bumblebees. (Not going to mention the honeybees…) @plantlifeuk.bsky.social @bumblebeetrust.bsky.social

Looking for lawn alternatives? ✅out #EcoLawn from #WildflowerFarm! (a friend‘s lawn and photograph) Amazing product requires no mowing, though you can mow it high if you want a formal appearance. Once established, it doesn’t require watering. Sun. Shade. Doesn’t matter! SUPER #DroughtTolerant.

I put in an ecolawn a few years ago, knock down the grass a couple times a year, and let the leaves from my maple trees decompose in the yard. Once you let go of the idea that a yard should be manicured and think of it as an ecosystem it's just a better and more interesting way to operate.
"“One quarter-acre piece of land is not going to turn the tide on the decline of the songbirds or the pollinators,” Mizejewski said. “But if thousands or even millions of us do this, just do the math. It adds up.”
