Designs gardens, (& some boutique installations/maintenance!), speaks, teaches, Niagara Parks graduate '91, Master Gardener. Helps folks make yards BEAUTIFUL & ecofriendly! Rain gardens, habitat plantings, incorporating edibles!
Kudos to the folks at the Gardenia website! They are now including information on a plant’s potential invasive nature! We need more people/organizations/nurseries doing this.

WOW! Looks like there are some great speakers this weekend at the #GrimsbySeedySaturday! Liz is incredible and I’ll need to try and stick around for the others. I’m chatting about designing a small garden. Come visit, see vendors, get seeds. FUN! At the Grimsby Public Library. I go on at 11:15. 😊

One of my favorite things about my profession is visiting old landscapes, at ANY time of year! These trees along the Lake Ontario shoreline in Burlington are establishing beautifully. I actually love the contrast between this 100% native planting and the post-apocalyptic background.

Friends! This Saturday, Feb. 14 there’s another #SeedySaturday. This one’s in Grimsby and I’m presenting on ‘Devil’s in the Details: Designing a Small Garden’. Come check out all the vendors and there are also other great vendors!

This one’s not open to the public, but I’m posting for folks in similar situations. A Guelph citizen’s group is having me present to homeowners in their gated community on ‘Flowers for Feathered Friends’ to show them their gardens can be useful to support birds in the garden. A great way to engage!

1.5 million prescriptions by doctors to patients to be put in nature!

The design needs to take into account, not just aesthetics, but also the interactions/experiences (which can be different for everyone).

Looks like we picked a good day for a tour to Havana! Definitely not a beach day! And a terrible birding day! 😂
January 27, 2026 at 1:06 PM
Oh my goodness, Siri! Although of course, I should’ve proofread more. That was supposed to be “birding“!

Sitting by the fire with a cup of coffee, sheltered from the snowstorm, reading #TheLayeredEdibleGarden by Christina Chung of @fluent.garden. Halfway through and, I have to say, EXCELLENT, and hats off for her discussion on #InvasiveSpecies!

Check out page 13 for an article focused on an amazing company called #LavishGardens. Our profession is improving all the time, and this landscape with its focus on biodiversity is an excellent example. Congratulations to #KarinaLapierreMcIntosh and her team! www.cnla.ca/publications...

Please share. Make sure kids and pets are being careful around water right now. Ice is getting thin and water levels are rising.

#RainGardens infiltrate water BETTER in the winter than they do in the summer!
