#DWP’s
GPs refuse to treat many chronic conditions. My meds will forever come out of their budget so my GP systematically refuses me cheap antihistamines that keep me from being disabled. If ever I can’t afford private, I will go from a taxpayer to a benefits receiver and that’s DWP’s problem; not theirs.

The #DWP’s training on how to assess severe conditions criteria (SCC) states that the conditions need to be ‘constant’. So if you can’t walk now but might have a hypothetical cure in the future, they will cut your benefits to starve you into work. Reminder, this is a #Labour government

It is incredibly hard to get benefits when you have ME. The DWP's internal guide on ME is still full of psychologising bullshit.

So we're very ill. Very poor. And the government is still blaming US for the situation.

Labour is a party of eugenics and genocide.

Fuck. Labour.

DWP’s new bank account checking powers ‘must have risk of over-reach mitigated’

A week ago the Work & Pensions Committee wrote a damning letter to Sir Peter Schofield saying:

"It is difficult to have confidence in your commitment to rectify DWP’s mistakes"

Today he announced he will be leaving his post as DWP Permanent Secretary in July

Now thankfully neither (the DWP's extremely dumb idea, or mass job losses to AI) are likely to come to pass. Does tell us how unbelievably useless the DWP is though.

I am worried too that we have a situation too where DWP believe costs currently carried by AtW should be coming from other sources, particularly employers making reasonable adjustments ...
February 6, 2026 at 9:54 AM
Key points:

(1) Despite that AtW costs increase with increasing demand, AtW comes out of (what I hope I'm interpreting correctly as) the budget for DWP's running costs.

(2) NAO says "no business case or underpinning legislation to provide a reference point for assessing value for money".

This is clarifying on DWP's own thinking (and the basis for that thinking and resulting decisions) with the many current problems with Access to Work.
Access to Work helps people with disabilities or health conditions get or stay in work.

But the average time DWP takes to process applications has increased, reaching 109 days in November 2025, affecting job security and employers’ cashflow.
