I head for the weapons locker, get a cutlass, and return three minutes later to jab it for emphasis as I say, "Launch anyways, it'll force them down to where Seacat in the whaleboat can engage."

Yeah, we rarely pulled into port anywhere, but I missed roll call twice.. once they had to put the gangplank back over to let me on.. once I had to catch a coxswain boat to catch the ship.. neither time resulted in disciplinary action .. like I said.. my div officer didn’t want me to report him.. 😉
