I fear there are indeed not too many low-effort options.
- for MDX, TinaCMS (Git-based) works well. But I only used it with Astro. tina.io/docs/feature...
- in-Browser VSCode with Plugins is ok: docs.github.com/en/codespace...
- best writing UX is Notion (+ Notion API / notion-to-md for CMS-like DX)

If you create a Codespace from a PR that was started by the GitHub Copilot agent, the clone of the git repo/branch that will be in the codespace will be a *shallow* clone which makes it difficult to rebase/merge against the branch.
You can fix this by running `git fetch --unshallow`.

I had to make a #Github account when I started the cs50 course last year, ostensibly to use their built-in codespace but they were also making commits as well, which makes sense now that I know how Git works.

I really like @GoogleColab for its immediacy, and the agent is nice too, but I think it's a shame that it's only Gemini Flash and they don't invest more in improving it. @GitHubCopilot GPT-5 agent in @code is so much more powerful, and in a codespace it's almost as convenient.
