#Canadianfilm
#CanadianFilm needs a Top 10 to draw attention to underrated films. Logically, the Academy Awards entry should be in the Top 10. For most of the last decade, that has not happened.

How the TIFF Top 10 list and Telefilm Canada Oscars entry have split over the last decade
Our cynicism of The Things You Kill making the TIFF Top 10 list is based on recent trends between Telefilm Canada (Academy Awards) and the Toronto International Film Festival. The TIFF Top 10 list …

A Scream from Silence is several films within a film on s*xual assault. You might think this is a recent film. This #CanadianFilm came out in 1979. Powerful and well-told stories.

Canadian film review: A Scream from Silence
A Scream from Silence | Mourir à tue-tête is a film that would seem highly relevant in modern times. A film that breaks down a rape from different vantage points. The Canadian film came out in 1979…

#YoungWerther is a smartly written rom-com #CanadianFilm. Charlotte has the logical pick in Albert to spend the rest of her life. Werther wants to change that dynamic.

Canadian film review: Young Werther
Young Werther gives us an intriguing challenge. Werther (English actor Douglas Booth) is eccentric, rich, and obnoxious. We are supposed to root for him in his chase of Charlotte (Alison Pill). Cha…

A great day to see the #CanadianFilm 23 décembre | Two Days Before Christmas. The film was inspired by #LoveActually. This is a #Quebecois film so subtitles are an option. #Canada doesn't have too many #Christmas films and this is a nice one.

Some #CanadianFilm thoughts toward the end of the year. Pretendians at the source of telling Indigenous stories. Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon remaking a Quebecois farce. Celine Song's newest film. The switch in the Oscars from ABC to YouTube.

Those Who Make Revolution Halfway Only Dig Their Own Graves is a long enough title for a #CanadianFilm. 183 minutes is a lot. Fictional accounts based from protesters. An important film more than for entertainment. Seeing a protest on ground level.

The White Fortress was good enough to make the TIFF Top 10 list for #CanadianFilm for 2021. Finding the film to review it was a lot harder. A nice coming of age story in post war Sarajevo. A lot of Canadian films don't look Canadian.
