The installation is called Tracks and it includes animals from across the traditional lands of the 5 Kulin Nation clans: Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung, Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, and Bunurong / Boonwurrung. This one is of a Dingo's footprint

This morning for Protestival, on Boonwurrung country/Fishermans Bend, we shut down weapons corporation Leonardo for the day.

We put the death machine on hold while we danced to great music and ate great food, join the resistance.

Names are also really political in ways that I want to recognise, tho I only know a little

e.g. the name you use for the land SE of Naarm reveals where you stand in the bitter native-title fight over Bunurong/Boonwurrung/Boon Wurrung Country. Many white orgs try to stay neutral by using all of them

Award-winning author Robbie Arnott and Boonwurrung actor-turned-writer Tasma Walton are the joint winners of the $100,000 ARA Historical Novel Prize, one of the richest literary awards in Australia.
'Impossible to elevate one above the other' as two authors split $100k prize
Robbie Arnott's Dusk about twins hunting a puma in Tasmania, and Tasma Walton's I Am Nannertgarrook about an Aboriginal woman kidnapped and sold into slavery, have tied to win the ARA Historical Novel...

I spotted this “conference of the pelicans” on my morning bike ride around the Williamstown foreshore on Boonwurrung country in Melbourne. Always a pleasure, pelicans!

Visited the the Gordon Studio glass exhibition at McClelland Gallery today, and we loved it to bits. This one’s for you, @drspacejunk.bsky.social 🚀

(It’s not typical of the rest of the exhibition.)

the bay is one of the meanings, but in wurundjeri or boonwurrung (can't remember which way around it was), narrm has a completely different meaning

I don't think we can confidently attribute it as a first-party Queer Killjoys piece. They appear to be on Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung land, i.e., in Naarm (Melbourne, Victoria). The document's writer locates themself in or near Kaurna land (Adelaide, South Australia).

I acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land on which I have the privilege to live, the Kulin nation of Boonwurrung country and pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I have the honour of giving an Acknowledgement of Country at the start of each meeting at my Toastmasters club.

As a non-Aussie, I was nervous at first. Then I saw the opportunity to learn about the Country I live on - that of the Boonwurrung People - and the history of this continent I call home.

I’d like to acknowledge that I spent today on Whadjuk Boodjar, and acknowledge the elders past and present, and that my last home was on boonwurrung lands.

The Boonwurrung people very much still live on the land that a bunch of white people stole -- the amount this one sentence says about psychedelic therapy in Australia cannot be understated...

Recently read Sharing by Boonwurrung Elder Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson, illustrated by Leanne Mulgo Watson. A gentle guide to respecting Country and appreciating the interconnectedness between nature, food, art, healing and community. Loved the vivid, layered illustrations.
