Morocco day 6. Spent the day in the Sous valley in hot sunshine. Undoubted highlight was this roosting Red Necked Nighhtjar. Also: Bonelli's Eagle, Osprey, Marsh Harrier, Glossy and Bald Ibis, Moussier's Redstarts.
Lowlight was failing to find the Black Crowned Tchagra's that were calling distantly.

On our drive to our next birding location, spotted this bird of pray in the sky. Guide quickly pulled over. Most excited I had seen him. Apparently a Bonelli's Eagle is not a very common raptor in Thailand. #birdofprey #birdoftheday #bonellisEagle #eagle

Heard a raven hoo-hah outside, just looked out to see them ‘mobbing’ a Bonelli’s eagle in the tall pine outside my bedroom window. Drove it off successfully. Another remarkable yet commonplace sort of thing in Empty Spain.

Eastern or is it a Western Bonelli’s warbler 🤔 If Eastern it’s only 4th ever record. Can only be told apart call and DNA. (So I have been told) Finder heard it calling once. I wonder what the Rarity committee will record it as? (pic from end of Sept) #shetland #bonelli #migration #birdingscotland

(Shetland Autumn 2025) This was one of the exciting rarities on Shetland when we were there. Believed to be an Eastern Bonelli's Warbler, but only one person had heard it, and they can't be told apart by field visuals only. Either way, a first for me! #birdwatching #birdingscotland
